More disturbing details have surfaced in the case of the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Civic volunteer Sanjoy Roy, who was arrested for the rape and murder of the doctor, had struck her with such force that her glasses shattered, causing shards to pierce her eyes.
