Kolkata Doctor Murder Case: Victim's Family Narrates Horrifying Ordeal, Hospital Called It Suicide

Family of trainee doctor raped and murdered at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College shares heartbreaking ordeal. In an interview with a media channel, the victim's father said when he got a call from the hospital, he knew something had happened to her. The family was initially told their daughter had died by suicide and were left waiting outside the hospital for hours before seeing her body. The father further said his wife started crying immediately when he told her about the incident. When the father saw his daughter's body, it was in a brutal condition, with shards of glass in her eyes and blood stains on various parts of her body. Autopsy report has confirmed sexual assault and homicidal death by throttling and smothering. The autopsy report mentioned that the victim was bleeding from her private parts and has injuries in her belly, left leg, neck, in her right hand, ring finger, and lips. The death is termed homicidal and antemortem, meaning the victim was dead before she was found. On the morning of August 9, the body of the victim was found in the seminar room of the RG Kar Medical College Hospital, a government-run facility in West Bengal.
