OceanGate reportedly took eight hours to report the missing Titanic submersible to the Coast Guard.

The vessel lost communication with tour operators on Sunday while about 435 miles south of St John’s, Newfoundland, during a voyage to the Titanic shipwreck off the coast of Canada.

The Titan sub imploded just metres away from the Titanic killing the five crew in “milliseconds”.

A spokesman for the US Coast Guard said debris found in the search for the missing sub is "consistent with the catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber".

OceanGate Expeditions said its pilot and chief executive Stockton Rush - along with Brit Hamish Harding, Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood and French national Paul-Henri Nargeolet died in the sub.

TalkTV’s Kevin O’Sullivan is joined by The Sun’s defence editor Jerome Starkey, who says: “I’m speculating here, but perhaps OceanGate knew it was game over already.”
